Results of qualifying stage, which took place on Friday, July 1 in Dienvidkurzeme region, was very close, with seven drivers, including home hero Mārtiņš Sesks, setting time within 0,275 seconds. First six stages of Tet Rally Liepāja will take place on Saturday, July 2 in Talsi region.

For the first time in their careers Liepāja local Mārtiņš Sesks with co-driver Renārs Francis, who were driving with Škoda Fabia Rally2 evo car prepared by Sports Racing Technology, won the tenth Tet Rally Liepāja. Sesks / Francis took an early lead on Saturday stages around Talsi Region, and with final special stages taking place around his hometown Liepāja, Sesks / Francis did a flawless job to further increase his lead to over a minute at the finish of Tet Rally Liepāja. Second place in the fifth round of 2022 FIA European Rally Championship went to Spaniards Efren Llarena and Sara Fernandez, while Finns Mikko Heikkilä and Samu Vaaleri finished third. |
On Saturday, Latvian Rally Championship round two Tet Rally Liepāja concluded on the roads of Talsi region, in which the victory after six stages was won by Mārtiņš Sesks / Renārs Francis crew, who are also competing in the FIA European Rally Championship. Estonian Gregor Jeets finished in second place, while Talsi local Elviss Hermanis took the third spot of the podium. FIA European Rally Championship fifth round Tet Rally Liepāja will take place from Talsi to rally city Liepāja this weekend on July 1-3. For those spectators, who have chosen to watch the rally from home this year, SS 12 Liepāja Power Stage will be shown live on TV6, while all-around coverage of all the stages will be available on TV3 Sport channels and on the WRC+ platform
FIA European Rally Championship round five Tet Rally Liepāja this weekend will see an experienced New Zealand driver Hayden Paddon trying his hand at roads of Talsi and Dienvidkurzeme regions. For former WRC round winner Paddon this will be first visiting time in Latvia.
On July 1-3, Tet Rally Liepāja, the FIA European Rally Championship round 5 and Latvian Rally Championship round 2 will take place between two Latvian cities – Talsi and Liepāja. Beyond the fighting for victory in roads of Kurzeme, competing crews will try to get as much points as possible, to be on top of the overall season standings at the end of the year.

With FIA European Rally Championship fifth round Rally Liepāja cornering up in July 1-3, former WRC Hyundai Motorsport teamdriver Hayden Paddon has been confirmed as first entrant for rally taking place in Kurzeme region, from Talsi to Latvia. Ticket sales has begun today for Rally Liepāja, round of the 2022 FIA European Rally Championship. At the very start of the sales period, a special offer is available for all the spectators – only until the end of April, a ticket for 20 euros will give you full access to the special stages that will take place around Talsi region on Saturday, July 2, and Dienvidkurzeme region on Sunday, July 3.
