Alongside event of the 2022 FIA European Rally Championship, Tet Rally Liepāja will also give grounds to second round of the 2022 Latvian Rally Championship. The fight for victory in Latvian Rally Championship are going to be intense, with crews competing in six different classes. FIA European Rally Championship crews of Latvian Mārtiņš Sesks and Estonian Gregor Jeets, both driving Škoda Fabia Rally2 evo car, will fight for the overall best time as well as a win in LRC2 class. Spectators of Tet Rally Liepāja will also have a chance to see Proto category cars, with whom in LRC1 class we will see Estonian Karl Martin Volver (Škoda Fabia Proto), who took the third place in opening round of the 2022 Latvian Rally Championship, and local Talsi-master Elviss Hermanis, who will be racing Škoda Fabia R5 Proto prepared by Latvian rally team Sports Racing Technologies.

In LRC3 class, a serious task is set for the sole Latvian crew of Ilya Zakmans (Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution X) competing for the class victory alongside international crews of Poles Tymoteusz Jocz and Hubert Laskowski (both with Ford Fiesta Rally3) and Lithuanian Paulius Beniušis (Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution IX).

Front-wheel drive LRC4 class will be represented by foreign crews only – the victor to be decided amongst the Estonian crews of Joosep Ralf Nõgene, Jaspar Vaher, Patrick Enok, and Karl Johannes Visnapuu, all driving Ford Fiesta Rally4. Interestingly, all 9 crews shall be using Ford Fiesta cars, either of R2 or Rally4 specification.

There will be 10 cars in total going for the LRC5 class glory, with experienced Latvian rally driver Jānis Vorobjovs (Mitsubishi Mirage) competing for the top spot against Edijs Bergmanis (Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution IX), the LRC5 class winner of the first LRC event Rally Sarma, as well as Estonian Timmu Kõrge (Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution X).

Equally, 10-cars-wide will be LRC7 class, with top seeded crews of Estonians Karel Tölp (Ford Fiesta R2) and Oskar Männamets (Citroën C2 R2 MAX) to be challenged by another Liepāja crew of Uldis Lepiksons (Ford Puma).

As we have seen in the past, incentive of the Latvian Automobile federation (LAF) to permit under-age rally drivers is being used by several juniors from other countries, allowing them to compete with the licence issued by the LAF and to gain much required experience. And so, Tet Rally Liepāja will see Pole Hubert Laskowski (Ford Fiesta Rally3, LRČ3), Belgian Thomas Martens (Ford Fiesta R2, LRČ4), Spaniard Gil Membrado (Ford Fiesta Rally4, LRČ4), as well as Turks Can Alakoc and Kerem Kazaz (both Ford Fiesta R2, LRČ4) giving a try to increase their skillset.

In total, 37 crews have applied for Round 2 of the 2022 Latvian Rally Championship event Tet Rally Liepāja, representing such countries as Latvia, Estonia, Lithuania, Belgium, Poland, and Spain.
